I then let my father read all your comments and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , you guys persuaded him and he told me to make a bid to the guy.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I did, I made him an offer, but he responded that the scrapper offered him the same and that they will pick it up tomorrow (last monday) !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I quickly offered 50 euro s more than the original bid, but he never responded....

But there is another car that I have my eye on, and I will go look at it sunday...

TLDR; Finally look at unicorn car, dad says no, dad says yes (thanks to you guys), seller says no. Scraps the car instead of extra 50 bucks,

It's crazy, people throw away stuff that works good or takes only minor repairs to be good as new. No wonder we're running low on resources.

Ask who the scrapper is and offer them money for it?

At a certain point, I cant really blame the seller though. I had been trying to buy a backpack off a guy once, and he kept standing me up, and eventually he tried calling me to sell it again, for less money, but I couldn't be convinced he wasn't just jerking me around. Not that the situation doesn't suck eggs. It does suck eggs. But it's just sad that it has to suck eggs for both of you. Just saying don't hate on the guy; you don't know what he might have gone through trying to sell the car.

I know the feeling. I tried to buy a black 944 off a guy in Detroit, drove all the way out there (with a Grand Cherokee, ready to tow it if necessary), ended up at a field in the middle of Detroit (somehow the address was misinterpreted between the two of us), and he wouldn't answer his phone. Ended up spending about 200 bucks in gas, food, etc and an entire day and most of the night trying to get a car, just to get stood up. He claimed he fell asleep when he got home, and that's why he didn't answer; ended up emailing me a few weeks later if I still wanted it, but the clutch went out. In the long run, it was better off that way.
